I used to swim at Bellerive Beach when I was young.
I’ve returned the last couple of summers because I don’t want to regret missing out on something that feels so good, just because I’m a bit older and more “sensibly built” than I used to be!
Avoiding regrets is another reason I’m standing for Clarence City Council. I don’t want to be sorry that I didn’t do everything possible to protect the places that make us special.
Once they’re gone, they’re gone.
I do miss being able to park right at the beach though. All the disabled parking places have been moved up the road to Blundstone Arena, and the former parking lot barricaded off.
We need a Council that makes decisions that respect ALL our residents – whether that’s those with mobility issues, or those who live in the area and have to deal with light, noise and litter pollution every time an event takes place here.
